The Brahmacharini Avatar of Maa Durga is worshipped as Brahmacharini -the unmarried form of the Mother.

दधाना कर पद्माभ्यामक्षमाला कमण्डलू।देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा॥
Dadhaana Kara Padmabhyamakshamala Kamandalu।Devi Prasidatu Mayi Brahmacharinyanuttama॥
Brahmacharini wears a white saree. She holds a Kamandalu and a Japa mala in the left and the right hand respectively. Goddess Brahmacharini did severe penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. She performed hard austerity and due to which She was called Brahmacharini. In this form, Goddess Durga or Parvati goes to the mountains to do penance. This is where her prospective consort, Lord Shiva is. She joins him here in asceticism. Hence, green color symbolizes growth, nature, and energy.
