Protect Dharma
We always work to hold on to something or other in our life. While holding unto somebody or something, we never understand that whatever we hold unto is not going to stay with us forever.
It is exactly as we all fight for the rights over a piece of land. We create boundaries based on a sense of ownership. But in reality, the land never belongs to us. In fact, we belong to the land.
Just the way a fish inhales water and then exhales it, neither does it accept water into it’s system nor does it reject it. In the same way, human beings own a piece of land while alive but eventually have to leave it behind.
In life nothing is ours. The people, the land, the assets that we have created, the power, and the success that we have achieved, nothing is ours except our self-confidence. That’s why we cannot let go of our self-confidence.
While building up our self-confidence, we may develop a sense of pride. This sense of pride will always push us to protect our honour/self-dignity. If we get carried away and try to protect our self-dignity, then we will fail to protect our dharma at that moment. If we protect our dharma, we will not be able to protect everything that we have. In this case, it is better to protect dharma than protecting our self-dignity and other assets. If we protect dharma, in due course of time we will be able to get back all that we lose including this precious life. Or else, we will live our life without life and of course, we will not be able to restore dharma or harmony in our life.
